Tell us a bit more about your free from journey.
My journey began in school, marked by constant belly pain and missed days. After a long wait, I was finally diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. Adhering to the gluten-free diet had serious ups and downs, especially as a university student. It was tough feeling like the awkward one at social gatherings, constantly having to miss out on late-night snacks with friends. The more I ignored my dietary needs, the sicker and more isolated I became.
I realised I needed a motivation shift. A way to focus on discovery, not deprivation. That turning point sparked the creation of FreeFromFoody! My social media platform is where I share yummy gluten-free food, restaurant finds, and health tips. Connecting with a community going through similar experiences has made sticking to the gluten-free life not just easier, but truly enjoyable. We are stronger together!
Why did you choose to be part of the Ambassador programme?
I wanted to be involved as an ambassador, really because it directly to the mission of FreeFromFoody. Being an ambassador helps me share two simple truths with people who have similar allergen experiences:
- You are not alone.
- There is delicious, enjoyable, and safe food out there.
I want to help champion the brands that are genuinely getting it right and help people experience that incredible moment of relief when you taste something truly delicious and know it’s safe. The Allergy & Free From Show brings amazing, award-winning food from across the UK and beyond. It’s the perfect place to find your next go-to food!
What are you most looking forward to about the show in May?
Of course, all the food is top of my list! I’m especially on the hunt for the latest baked goods, the ones that genuinely taste like the real deal. I’ll be sharing my finds and honest reviews in real-time on FreeFromFoody. Beyond the treats, I can’t wait to see some of the top allergy/coeliac advocates, chefs, and professionals sharing their experiences, top tips, and baking secrets. It’s such a day of inspiration and education!
