Freeater launches app to help people eat with confidence at the Allergy & Free From Show

Freeater App

As conversations around food allergies and dietary needs continue to grow, a new UK-based app is launching with a simple mission: to make it easier for people to find food they can eat with confidence.

Visitors to the Allergy & Free From Show will be among the first to discover Freeater, a platform designed to remove the stress and uncertainty that often comes with eating out or deciding where to go.

The idea was sparked by a real-life experience. Founder Kate Alderson recalls a family meal where her dad, who is gluten intolerant and vegetarian, called 15 restaurants before finding just one he felt confident eating at. With other family members also managing different dietary needs, including lactose intolerance and coeliac disease, it highlighted a wider issue: finding suitable options can be time-consuming, unclear, and often overwhelming.

Freeater has been built to change that.

The app helps users discover, check, and choose food options that match their needs, whether that’s allergies, intolerances, or lifestyle diets. It brings clarity to what’s available, helping people quickly see what they can eat, explore new options, and make informed decisions without the usual back-and-forth.

With its group mode, users can consider multiple dietary needs at once, making it easier to find places that work for everyone when eating together.

Backed by over 650 surveys and interviews and tested by a growing community since 2024, the platform reflects a simple but important shift: focusing on what people can eat, rather than what they can’t.

Visitors to the show can meet the team, see the app in action, and experience how Freeater is helping to save time, reduce stress, and make eating out and food shopping more accessible.

So everyone can eat with confidence – wherever they are and whoever they’re with.
