Eight years of eczema education and family support is being rebuilt into free, bite-sized resources designed to be accessible even during the difficult 3am moments.

UK, September 2026 — Naturopath, Herbalist and Nutritionist Rebecca Bonneteau N.D. has launched The Eczema Expert, a free app designed to help parents better understand eczema, support their child emotionally and make more informed decisions about what may be helpful for their individual family.

Launched in time for National Eczema Week, the app brings together eight years of Rebecca’s work supporting families affected by eczema and is being completely reviewed and rewritten with one person firmly in mind: the exhausted parent.

“Now that I am a parent myself, I understand on a completely different level that it isn’t enough for information simply to be available,” Rebecca explains. “It has to be easy to find, easy to understand and manageable when you are tired, overwhelmed or searching for an answer at 3am.”

The app currently includes more than 20 bite-sized lessons across Start Here, Borrowing Our Calm and Real Parent Questions, with new resources being continually added.

Families also have access to a free private in-app community, where they can ask questions, support one another and celebrate wins away from public social media. Questions being asked within the community will also help Rebecca prioritise the resources families most need next.

The idea grew from both Rebecca’s professional work and her own childhood.

Born with eczema, Rebecca describes growing up “itchy and uncomfortable in a skin suit that felt too small.” Creams went to school with her and allergies meant she could not always join in with the same activities as other children. Despite her mother researching extensively for ways to help her — long before information was readily available online — eczema remained a major part of Rebecca’s childhood.

It was not until Rebecca returned to education in her thirties and trained in naturopathy, herbal medicine and nutrition that she began piecing together a different understanding of her own health.

“I remember thinking, ‘I wish my parents knew then what I know now.’ That thought is what eventually created The Eczema Expert.”

Rebecca is particularly passionate about making the education free.

“I don’t believe a parent struggling with a child with eczema should be presented with a paywall before they can access my work. I don’t want children suffering needlessly, and I don’t want parents feeling guilt-ridden because they can’t fix it for them.”

The app also aims to help families navigate the overwhelming amount of eczema advice shared online. Recommendations are frequently passed from one parent to another because something “worked for us”, without an explanation of why it may have helped that particular person.

Rather than encouraging families to buy every product labelled for eczema, Rebecca wants parents to develop enough understanding to ask better questions, recognise their child’s individual circumstances and make more considered choices.

Ultimately, the goal is bigger than eczema education.

“I want to help save parents’ sanity, help children grow up feeling more comfortable and, eventually, take the focus off eczema so families can get back to living and enjoying life.”

Optional paid group support and one-to-one support are available for families who would like Rebecca to work with them more closely.
