Kallie was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just four years old. Six months later, she also received her coeliac disease diagnosis. Suddenly, we were navigating life with two autoimmune conditions, learning about insulin management, carb counting, strict gluten-free living, cross-contamination risks, and the emotional challenges that come with it all.
Life with dual diagnoses inspired us to share our journey openly and honestly, raising awareness and offering support to families walking a similar path.
Joining the Allergy Free From Ambassadors programme feels like an incredible opportunity to be part of something that will truly make a difference for so many families. Living with Type 1 diabetes and coeliac disease has shown us how vital safe, inclusive spaces are, especially at events and festivals. Being involved in a programme that actively supports the allergy community means so much to us both and we can’t wait until the show in May!
