Ali Walsh

Founder of Life on a Rice Cake

Ali Walsh is the founder of Life on a Rice Cake, a website for people who need to avoid gluten. Through online courses and 1:1 mentoring sessions, Ali helps people with coeliac disease and IBS navigate their health challenges with confidence and clarity.
Diagnosed with both coeliac disease and IBS over twenty years ago, Ali is passionate about educating others about gluten to ensure they can eat and be catered for safely. She also believes that chronic pain can be made considerably more manageable using specific mindset and breathwork techniques, an approach which she incorporates into her mentoring.
Packed with valuable advice and practical strategies, Life on a Rice Cake aims to make living easier, no matter how difficult things might seem.
Ali is an accomplished speaker and writer, regularly appearing on BBC radio and at gluten-free events around the UK. She wrote for Gluten-Free Heaven magazine for five years and recently published her top ten Amazon bestselling book, ‘Are You There, Gluten?’ endorsed by the coeliac actor Christopher Eccleston.
A keen supporter of Coeliac UK, Ali raised money for the charity by running the 2023 London Marathon dressed as a banana.
She lives in Bristol with two naughty little people who love covering themselves in chocolate.
