Dr Uche Okorji-Obike is a mother, wife, and author of Thrive Allergy Free…Journey to a Life Unlimited by Food Allergies. She is also the founder of Tots2Teens Allergies, a platform that educates, encourages, and supports parents, caregivers and children affected by food allergies.
Both the book and Tots2Teens were inspired by her experience of raising a daughter diagnosed with cow’s milk and egg allergies as well as severe eczema as a baby. This coupled with her expertise in inflammation, the underlying mechanism for allergies, turned into a passion to ease the burden for others experiencing the same.
Uche obtained a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen, an MSc in Drug Discovery from the University of Bradford and a PhD in Pharmacology from University of Bradford. She is also a member of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology BSACI and holds a Nutrition and Well-being Certificate from the University of Aberdeen.
Currently, she works in bio-pharmaceutical development in the pharmaceutical industry supporting the development of new treatments by devising methods that are used in quality control in the release of these drugs. She is based in Cambridgeshire, UK.
