Anna has 27 years of experience in NHS laboratory medicine, working behind the scenes, playing a critical role in patient diagnosis and treatment. She is now studying towards a PgDip in Nutrition and Dietetics, furthering her knowledge and experience to include medical aspects of nutrition support. Alongside studying, Anna works in private practice as a Registered Nutritional Therapist, helping unlock the mysteries of unresolved and complex health conditions, including Histamine Intolerance. She has also been a mental health volunteer for over 20 years. Linking all her specialisms together, Anna has developed Biomedic Nutritionist®.
Anna has been on her own Histamine Intolerance journey, alongside her twin sister, who have navigated the condition at the same time as each other. Anna understands the daily challenges of living with this chameleon-like ‘mystery allergy’ and the difficulties of diet, nutrition, and wellbeing, as well as its profound psychological impact, and impact on quality of life. As a twin, Anna never felt she was dealing with this multifaceted condition on her own. Her aim is to give people living with histamine intolerance a platform, to be understood and their condition recognised.
